Pamela Diamante

Pamela Diamante, born in Bari in 1985, lives and works in Bari.

After voluntarily enlisting in the Italian Army in 2002, Pamela Diamante specialized as "anti-tank missile operator", becoming part of 186º "Folgore" Paratroopers Regiment in Siena. With Folgore she was involved, between 2003 and 2005, in different humanitarian missions in Bosnia Herzegovina and Kosovo. Later on she became Corporal Major in the eleventh Bersaglieri Regiment in Orcenico Superiore, near Pordenone, in the North-east of Italy.

She discharged in 2007 and began to study art, with artists such as Jannis Kounellis, Hidetoshi Nagasawa, Francesco Arena, Carsten Nicolai, Lazaro Saavedra, and she took part in several exhibition projects held in public and private places, and in international projects, such as the Pavilion of the Republic of Cuba at the 56th Biennale di Venezia International Exhibition. At the same time she started a rich experience of cooperation as curatorial assistant.

Pamela graduated in Sculpture in 2016 at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bari with a work analysing the connections between art, science and new technologies.

She focuses her art on issues such as the unpredictability and the paradox of the event, and the development of a discontinuity from micro to macro, that generates a change in the perception of time. Her works are presented in different ways, according to the level of analysis they originated in: from video and photography to installation, the "medium" is elected for a phenomenologic research in reality, becoming a new semantic universe.
